Lagan Press aims to publish works of literary, artistic, social and cultural importance to the north of Ireland.

In terms of literature, the press aims to place an emphasis on those forms which are essentially non-commercial, especially poetry, drama and literary fiction.

In its artistic programme, Lagan aims to strike a balance between producing new imaginative work (with an emphasis on debut volumes and novels) and the rediscovery of authors and poets of the cultural importance, especially those writers of the period 1930-1970.

As an allied aim to this process of artistic diversity, discovery and renewal, the press is also dedicated to producing contemporary creative work in the Irish language.
